Job Title: Intern- MIHR MNCH Team

What you'll do: You will be assisting the team of senior maternal, newborn and child health technical advisors on a range of activities and initiatives that advance our work on the USAID-funded Momentum Integrated Health Resilience project. You will also be exposed to and learn about organizational systems and procedures related to development and humanitarian programming.

Location: The Intern will primarily work remotely however may from time to time be asked to visit Corus International's DC or Baltimore office as advised. The intern is expected to work 25-30 hours a week for six (6) months.


About The Ideal Candidate:

The intern is a passionate graduate student or professional, eager to learn and have hands on experience of applying theory to practice in partnership with colleagues and partners in fragile settings.


Here's what you need:

  • Graduate studies in a related field (e.g., public health, obstetrics, pediatrics, neonatology, nursing, or midwifery) in progress.
  • Previous literature review experience.
  • Knowledge of international health best practices.
  • Demonstrated data collection abilities.
  • Experience working with professional and support staff in a multicultural, multi-linguistic environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Fluency in English oral and written communication skills. French would be an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity and competency required; experience living and/or working in developing countries preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a team in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to support Corus's mission.
  • Need to be in the possession of a residence- and work permit for the United States or a student visa that permits you to work as an intern.
