What you'll do:

  1. Working to the annual audit plan, you will own the engagement with audit clients you have been assigned, designing the scope of the audit. From moment one you will drive the process, ensuring the audit client is fully briefed on the engagement, what to expect and the availability of key personal to ensure the engagement flows smoothly.
  2. You will be working closely with colleagues in the 20+ countries Corus works, ensuring audit engagements and final reports are delivered within the agreed timeframe of the Internal Audit standard operating procedure.
  3. As part of the Internal Audit team, you will add value through robust recommendations that help Corus to achieve its mission through efficient and effective use of resources.
  4. Support the Director, Internal Audit with any other ad hoc tasks that have been assigned to the Internal Audit team.

Location: Washington DC / Baltimore / or 100% Remote Worldwide

About The Ideal Candidate:

  1. You will be an experienced internal audit professional with a passion for adding value through innovative solutions and be comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
  2. You will have expertise in designing and executing an audit engagement from initial scoping activities through to production of the final report.
  3. You will possess the ability to work collaboratively to deliver tough messages to managers whilst still maintaining positive and strong working relationships with the audit client.
  4. You will be a great communicator and possess the ability to break down complex information into easily actionable outputs that can be measured.
  5. As no two days are the same, you will be flexible in your approach to work and can multitask, switching between tasks as the situation necessitates.
  6. With a strong track record in delivering to tight deadlines, often at short notice you will possess the ability to self-start, be able to prioritize and participate in multiskilled teams with a common goal to deliver.
  7. You will be comfortable in leading junior members of staff, acting as a mentor and willing to continually develop professional skills to meet the demands of the role.



  • Degree or professional qualification related to Audit / Finance / Risk Management
  • A minimum 3 years' experience in similar role required.
  • Experience of acting as a mentor and developing junior staff.
  • Proficiency in writing reports or similar documents to a professional standard.

Highly desirable

  • Experience in a similar role in an international development organization or institutional Donor.
  • Experience working with donors such as USAID, FCDO, Global Fund.
  • Experience of training teams and/or mentoring colleagues.
